Eligibility :

Applications are invited for admission to M.A. Course (2014-2016) in Russian from candidates who have passed B.A. (Hons.) in Russian / Pre. M.A. in Russian OR any other qualification considered equivalent thereto.

Application Form and Submission :

Application forms are available at C.U. website. Application Fee Rs. 100/- (Rs. 50/- for SC / ST / PWD) (Deposit to SBI, CU Br. Current A/c No. 33952775663 under the head "Calcutta University P.G. offline application"). Please attach Counter part of Cash Deposition receipt and write on the reverse Name, Course applied for and Mobile No. of the candidate.

The last date of submission (2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.) of application at the office of the department is 01.12.2014.

Number of Seats :

The number of available seats is 15 (Fifteen). Reservation rules apply.

Commencement of Classes :

The classes for the said course will commence on 08.12.2014. The schedule of classes will be announced in due course.

Attendance during the session :

Minimum 65% of the total classes held.

Examination Scheme :

The full marks for each paper (pt-1 & pt-2) is 100 and the break-up is written : 75+I.A.-10+viva-15

At the end of first one year session, part-I examination (2015) will be held as per the following :
Paper I	:	Practical Russian
Paper II	:	Practical Translation
Paper II	:	History and culture of Russia
Paper IV	:	Introduction to Linguistics Modern Russian Language (Phonetics and lexicology)
Paper V	:	History of Modern Russian Literature (19th century)
The part-II examination (2016) will be held at the end of second year session as per the following :
Paper VI	:	Practical Russian
Paper VII	:	History and Culture of Russia
Paper VIII	:	Modern Russian Language (Morphology and Syntax)
Paper IX	:	History of Modern Russian literature (20th century and onwards)
Paper X	:	Special Paper (Field Study)
